Prairie Creek
Situated along the road towards the airport, Prairie Creek is a brand new, quickly growing development on the south side of Fort McMurray. Primarily a manufactured and modular home community, six six-plexes have been approved to be built in the area, and 50 town homes have just begun the construction phase. The community offers no retail amenities as of yet, but plans are in the works to develop a local commercial facility. Just a short drive to Gregoire, however, or to the downtown district is all that is required for shopping. One added benefit of living in Prairie Creek is the close proximity to the airport, and access to many recreational opportunities such as trails, the horse club, and Vista Ridge ski hill.
